What is royalty-free stock photography?
The term 'royalty-free' can be a bit confusing since royalty-free stock photography is not free. Royalty-free photos must first be purchased before any usage is permitted. With a royalty-free license, you are not required to specify how or where you plan to use the image. Once you've paid for your royalty-free image(s), you're free to use the image for nearly any use. You can also use the image over and over again because a royalty-free license has no restrictions on time or re-usage. With a standard royalty-free license you are restricted from sharing, selling or storing the image in any way that makes the image accessible to others. However, royalty-free images can be shared among internal groups with additional seat licensing, allowing companies to build a library of royalty-free imagery to suit their specific creative needs.
